The case gained repercussion after a report published in the United Kingdom, detailing a legal dispute between the team, its controller Dorilton Capital, and Claudia Schwarz, a former executive of the company. According to the cited documents, Schwarz claims to have been dismissed in 2022 after raising concerns about alleged racist and sexist behavior.
In addition to these accusations, the former director also reportedly questioned Williams’ true ownership structure. The team, however, firmly contested these allegations and decided to respond publicly through its boss, James Vowles.
Speaking to Sky Sports F1, Vowles stated that the matter is ongoing in the judicial sphere and, therefore, there are limitations on what can be commented on publicly. Still, he made the team’s position clear regarding the accusations.
“First of all, this is a complex legal process. There’s not much I can say publicly, but these allegations are false, to begin with, and will be contested in a court of law, which is where they should be dealt with at this time,” he stated.

The dispute also involves a counterclaim filed by Dorilton Capital. According to the company’s claim, Schwarz allegedly submitted undue expenses and charges totaling US$6.9 million. The lawsuit also mentions an alleged inappropriate relationship between the former executive and Darren Fultz, former CEO of the holding company responsible for the team.
According to Dorilton’s accusation, Fultz allegedly ignored a supposed fraud related to the case. These allegations are part of the ongoing legal process, which is yet to be analyzed by the competent authorities.
Vowles reinforced that Williams remains confident in its principles and the organization’s internal culture: “These allegations are misleading. Within the team, everyone is calm. They know who we are, they know what our values are, and none of that has changed,” concluded the British team principal.
