In the second session in the Principality, the temperature remained mild with a blue sky, temperatures around 23ºC, and the asphalt reaching 32ºC. Humidity was around 65%.
With the clock ticking in Monte Carlo, Bortoleto didn’t take long to leave the Audi garage. Unlike FP1, this time, the Brazilian started the practice session on medium tires – in the first, he went out on hard tires for the first time.
After his first timed lap, Bortoleto only did a track reconnaissance, as he was more than 5s off the fastest driver and appeared at the bottom of the standings, having plenty of room to improve his time.
With 47 minutes remaining until the checkered flag, a yellow flag followed by a virtual safety car was necessary. The reason was a problem with Lando Norris, who stopped his car in the run-off area at the end of the tunnel, apparently without power. At this moment, the Audi Brazilian driver was 21st.

With the practice session restarted, Gabriel had more chances for fast laps. So far, the competitor has completed one fast lap, but 11 total laps around the Monaco circuit. In comparison, Nico Hülkenberg is seventh.

After a period in the pits, the Brazilian returned to the track on soft tires, following the general trend of the rest of the field. His time was still 1min19s864, 6s2 slower than Charles Leclerc, who was first.
Finally, the Brazilian managed to considerably improve his time and his position in the standings. Bortoleto catapulted himself to ninth position with a time of 1min14s823 halfway through the session in the Principality.
With the session approaching its final phase with less than 20 minutes on the clock, Gabriel Bortoleto moved into eighth place with a time of 1min14s359, one position behind his German teammate.
A red flag was deployed in the final minutes of the session due to a Cadillac that stopped on the track. Until the end, Bortoleto did not improve his time and finished the Formula 1 Monaco GP day in ninth.
