The 2026 Porsche Supercup season is about to begin and Matheus Ferreira will be the Brazilian representative on the grid. The category holds the first of its eight stages this weekend, on the circuit set up on the streets of Monte Carlo, as part of the traditional Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 program. The driver, who is in his second year competing in GTs, has high expectations for the start of the “Porsche World Championship” season.

“We are now officially starting the Supercup season, which has already had a test session. My expectation for the season is to focus on the Rookies championship and aim for that title, but, of course, fighting to get the best possible position in the overall classification as well,” says Matheus Ferreira, who also explains the championship format.
“The Supercup always follows the Formula 1 GPs, so we will go through circuits like Monaco, Spa, and Barcelona. The format is a bit different, with only one practice, one qualifying, and one race. So we also have to adapt to this format,” adds the driver, who, as in the German Porsche Cup, will represent the GP Elite team.

This will be the third time Ferreira competes in a Formula 1 preliminary stage. In 2023, the Brazilian won at Interlagos in F4 Brazil. Last year, again in the preliminary of the São Paulo F1 GP, Matheus reached the podium in the Porsche Cup.
The Porsche Supercup schedule will open on Thursday (4), when the only free practice of the weekend takes place, while Friday will feature qualifying. Saturday will have no activities, while the race is scheduled for 6:55 AM on Sunday. F1TV broadcasts all activities live.
