Pierre Gasly admitted concern about a drop in performance that has been affecting his side of the Alpine garage since the Miami GP. Despite being in eighth place in the Formula 1 championship, the Frenchman stated that the car has stopped responding the same way in recent stages.

The competitor finished in the points zone in four of the five races held so far and also scored a point in the Sprint in Miami, before retiring from the main race after an incident with Liam Lawson.
After qualifying for the Canadian GP, the Frenchman described a scenario quite different from that seen at the start of the season. “I don’t really know what’s going on since Miami, but right now, on my side, we are absolutely nowhere,” he assessed.

While the Frenchman was facing difficulties, his teammate, Franco Colapinto, finished the Canadian GP in sixth place. Even with this performance difference, Gasly believes the cause is not only related to the car’s setup. “It’s a case of, fundamentally, something not working since Miami, and there is a lot of work to do,” he highlighted.
“There is performance in the car, but since Miami something changed in the way to extract that potential, and I need to recover it,” he concluded.
