Nicolas Costa was the winner of Race 1 of the NASCAR Brasil Series that took place on the morning of this Sunday (31) at the Interlagos Circuit. The driver managed to use the right strategies to defend himself in the final stretch of the race which, besides being marked by drizzle and cold weather, had intense competition with the rookie Murilo Rocha and the experienced Thiago Camilo. The race started with Cacá Bueno in front, protecting the lead from Arthur Gama, who lost positions. With that, Nicolas Costa took advantage of the moment and moved up to second place. Vitor Genz managed to catch up and move up to third.
Still halfway through the first lap, Bueno lost several positions after car problems. With that, the top-3 became Costa, Genz, and Gabriel Casagrande, with Murilo Rocha and Thiago Camilo right behind.
The race continued with many movements in the middle of the pack, but without significant changes. Costa began to open a gap in the lead.
Casagrande and Ricardo Zonta were penalized with a drive-through for jump start and, because of that, Rocha moved up to third and started to pressure Genz.

At the start of the ninth lap, Rocha passed Genz. Further back, the battle between Galid Osman and Denis Navarro for sixth place also tightened, with Navarro coming out on top. At the exit of the “S” at Interlagos, Osman ended up spinning on the track. Two laps later, Genz also spun in the same spot.
In the final two laps, Costa and Rocha were very close, but Costa managed to maintain the advantage to win. Rocha finished in second place, while Camilo completed the podium.
With the result, Murilo Rocha also took the victory in the Challenge class. Bruna Tomaselli and Witold Ramasauskas completed the top-3.
