Formula 1 remains on alert for rain at the 2026 Canadian GP. The FIA has released a new official forecast indicating that this Sunday’s race in Montreal is expected to take place on a wet track, with fog and low visibility throughout practically the entire event.

Although the heavier rain has already passed over the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in the early hours of the day, the trend is for light intermittent precipitation and constant fog during the rest of the morning and also during the race period. The forecast indicates that the track will hardly dry completely before the end of the event.
According to the official statement, there is still a possibility of isolated moderate showers late in the morning and early afternoon, although the expectation is that the intensity of the rain will gradually decrease throughout the day. Even so, the FIA highlighted that persistent fog is expected to accompany the entire main Formula 1 session in Montreal.

Another point of concern involves visibility. The combination of fog, low clouds, and moderate wind may impact not only the race but also operations at the circuit after the event. The document emphasizes that weather conditions are expected to remain unstable until Sunday night.
The forecast also points out that the asphalt is only expected to dry completely later, before the arrival of a new front of light to moderate rain forecast for Monday morning in Montreal.
