Gabriel Bortoleto made a point of cheering for Max Verstappen during the 24 Hours of Nürburgring weekend. The Brazilian Formula 1 driver said he watched his four-time world champion friend and was disappointed by the mechanical problem that took away the chance of victory.

The Red Bull driver made a great impression in his debut at Nordschleife. After preparation in recent months, on race day he made beautiful overtakes, maintained his bold style, and led much of the event. But a mechanical problem in his Mercedes-AMG GT3 took away the chance of victory with his teammates.
But Gabriel was attentive to the competition and rooting for Max. “I watched most of the race,” Bortoleto told GPblog. “I spent most of my weekend watching, yes. I even watched when he wasn’t racing. I think it was an incredible race.”

“It was very challenging, and he did an incredible job. He would have won if he hadn’t had the problem with the car that he had, and he shows the level he is at, and the level at which his teammates were my friends, you know, Dani [Juncadella], and it was simply a great race to watch,” he continued.
