Lance Stroll ruled out leaving Formula 1 and stated that he intends to stay at Aston Martin until he sees the team reach its expected potential. In his tenth season in the category, the Canadian reinforced his confidence in the British team’s project.

“No, because I still believe a lot in this project,” he said when asked about retirement. “And I think the project is far from our potential.”
Stroll highlighted the arrival of Adrian Newey, as well as the new factory and the new wind tunnel, as factors that increase his motivation: “And I believe this team has a lot of potential, and I want to be in it and be part of this team when we reach the point I believe we are capable of achieving.”
The driver also admitted that he would feel bothered to see Aston Martin winning races without his participation. “If in two or three years I’m sitting on the couch, watching two green cars at the front of the pack, without being part of it, that will bother me.”

About the future outside F1, Stroll mentioned the possibility of competing in other categories, after recently participating in activities with GT3 cars, just like Max Verstappen. However, he said that the current Formula 1 schedule prevents new commitments.
“Maybe one day I’ll do that when I have time,” he said. “At the moment, the schedule is very full.”
