Laurent Mekies has already clarified all the confusion with Zak Brown regarding the hiring of Gianpiero Lambiase by McLaren in Formula 1. The Red Bull chief has already stated that the duo has moved on from the matter.

During the Miami GP weekend, the Frenchman commented that Max Verstappen’s engineer is joining the Woking team with the same command role that he himself performs within Red Bull.
However, Mekies’ statement contradicted what McLaren had said: Lambiase would take on the role of racing director. When he spoke about the matter, Brown mocked and said that Laurent must know something he did not, reiterating that Andrea Stella would remain in charge of the team.

Later, Mekies clarified the matter. “I talk very often with Zak and my other colleagues… But certainly, none of us wanted to get into an endless discussion about the matter,” he said.
“We had a good conversation, as we always do, and moved on,” he added.
