Formula 1 has gone on alert for the Miami GP. The FIA has officially declared a “rain risk” due to the forecast of storms that could directly impact the race.

The situation may even change the start time, as there are discussions to bring the race start forward. The reason is the expectation of heavy and persistent rain, which could make the race impossible to hold.
The scenario is worsened by U.S. legislation that requires the immediate suspension of outdoor events in case of lightning within a radius of approximately 13 kilometers. Under these conditions, the race is stopped and can only resume after 30 minutes without new occurrences, with the timer restarting if a new lightning strike is recorded.
According to the category regulations, the FIA can declare a rain risk when the forecast exceeds 40% probability. This condition must be confirmed up to two hours before the session and remains valid until the activity ends.

Race director Rui Marques formalized the alert at 1:17 PM local time, more than two hours before qualifying started. The measure reinforces concern about weather conditions and keeps all teams on alert for possible schedule changes.
