The modest result in the Sprint, only seventh place after a competitive start, exposed problems that could compromise the rest of the weekend. The main concern is the car’s system operation.
Hamilton revealed that he faced software failures that directly affected straight-line performance, both in the Sprint Qualifying and the short race. “I’m hoping we can change quite a bit. Yesterday we lost three tenths just because the software wasn’t working properly,” said the seven-time world champion.
According to the driver, the problem continued during the Sprint, harming power delivery. He also pointed out that the car setup is not suitable for the current conditions and that deeper adjustments will be necessary before qualifying. “The setup is in the wrong place, so we will definitely make big changes,” he added.

The start of the race featured an intense duel with Max Verstappen, but the loss of performance prevented Hamilton from staying in the fight. The Dutchman, in turn, showed irritation with a specific moment in the battle between the two.
After being instructed to give the position back for exceeding track limits, Verstappen complained about the Ferrari driver’s reaction. “I had to let him pass, but he didn’t come. We lost four seconds there, it was a shame,” said the four-time world champion.
Hamilton did not comment directly on the episode, but now turns his focus to technical adjustments, seeking to regain competitiveness in the remainder of the weekend in Miami.
