Arvid Lindblad suffered a hard setback during the Miami GP Formula 1 weekend. The young driver was penalized and will have to start from the pit lane in this Saturday’s Sprint race, after an unusual mistake by the Racing Bulls team.

This decision directly impacts his starting position, as he had secured a place on the grid after the Sprint qualifying. With the penalty, all drivers behind him move up one position, changing the starting order.
Initially, Lindblad had finished 16th in SQ1, but moved up to 15th after a penalty was applied to Alex Albon. However, Racing Bulls committed an infraction by not covering the car after the session, which violates the sporting regulations of the category.

The FIA confirmed the penalty based on the current rules: “Not covering the car after a Sprint qualifying session constitutes a violation of Article B3.4.2 a),” the entity stated. As a result, car number 41 will be automatically required to start from the pit lane, as provided in the regulations.
This penalty represents a significant blow to the eighteen-year-old young driver, who will now have to try to recover, starting the Sprint race outside the traditional starting grid.
