The Australian believes that the gap to the German rival is still very large to be overcome with just one package of changes to the car, although he hopes that steps will be taken.

Therefore, this weekend, Piastri expects an improvement in the MCL60, but still not at Mercedes’ level at the start of Formula 1. “I hope we are faster. Obviously, that is the plan. “And I think Japan was good to enter the break with a bit of confidence in showing our potential and I hope we have increased that now. So, I hope it is a good step forward,” he concluded.
