The atmosphere in Formula 1 is heating up ahead of the Miami GP, but George Russell made it clear that he does not intend to change his approach. The Mercedes driver rejected the idea of adopting a more aggressive stance against teammate Kimi Antonelli.

The discussion arose after comments from former category driver David Coulthard, who suggested that Russell should put more pressure on the young championship leader. The Brit, however, argued that he can compete for the title cleanly.
The young driver, Antonelli, arrives in Miami leading the championship after consecutive wins, while Russell is in second place, nine points behind. The British driver also highlighted that he has had recent setbacks, including technical problems and a poorly positioned Safety Car, which impacted his results.

Even so, Russell does not intend to adopt off-track strategies to try to destabilize his teammate: “That’s not how I work. I know what I represent and the kind of person I am,” he said.
He also emphasized that he believes in winning through pure performance: “I don’t need to win using that kind of approach. I can win fairly and honorably,” he added, making it clear that he expects a direct and balanced battle with Antonelli throughout the season.
