The young competitor’s second year in the category has been stellar. After three rounds this year, he has achieved victory in two and holds the classification lead with a 22-point advantage over George Russell, his teammate.
With 19 more rounds until the end of the championship, the Mercedes driver wants to keep his feet on the ground, even with so much speculation about his chances of winning the title.

“Definitely, I think it was a better start than all of us predicted and expected, at least from my side. And I think it was definitely a very strong start to the season,” he said.
“And certainly the expectations are a bit different now, but at the end of the day, I still try to maintain the same mentality I had in the first three races, just trying to focus on what I have to do, on the goal, and trying to put myself in the best possible position to achieve a great result,” he added.
