The meeting took place last Monday (13) and aimed to hear the drivers’ experience and discuss possible short-term changes. The final decisions, however, still depend on a meeting with team principals scheduled for April 20, followed by ratification by the World Motor Sport Council.
The meeting with the drivers was organized after a previous meeting, held last Thursday, between the FIA and the teams’ technical managers. On that occasion, possible immediate changes to the regulations were discussed, which are now under evaluation before an official definition. Consulting the drivers was considered an important step to complement the technical discussions.
Among the participants was the president of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA), George Russell, as well as Verstappen, who has been one of the main critics of the current rules.
