Race 2 of the NASCAR Brazil stage in Santa Cruz do Sul (RS), this Sunday (12), was marked by intensity from start to finish. Gabriel Casagrande took good advantage of the battles and restarts to take the lead and never let go. Vitor Genz and Nicolas Costa completed the podium, which was decided only in the final laps.

The start was authorized with Vitor Genz maintaining the lead well. Gabriel Casagrande pressured Arthur Gama and secured second place; In the Challenge class, Tito Giaffone started the race in the lead.
At the start of Lap 3, Alfredinho Ibiapina touched Allam Khodair. When Ricardo Zonta tried to swerve, the car went onto the grass and crashed, causing the first safety car of the race.
The restart happened with 17 minutes still on the clock, with Genz still in front, being attacked by Casagrande. They went side-by-side and Casagrande took the position. With this, Gama also gained second place. Further back, an incident involving Allam Khodair, Witold Ramasauskas, Tatiana Calderón and Tito Giaffone caused the second safety car of the race.
On the restart, Casagrande and Gama had a good battle, but without a change of positions. Thiago Camilo took third place. In Challenge, Alfredinho Ibiapina was in the lead. The race became more stable.

In the final minute, during the battle, Gama went off track and dropped to seventh. Meanwhile, Tito Giaffone, who had returned to the race, stopped at the edge of the track. However, the safety car was deployed with two laps to go because of Tati Calderón’s car.
The race restarted for the final lap, with plenty of action, but Casagrande managed to stay firm in first and secured the victory. Vitor Genz and Nicolas Costa completed the podium.
