Felipe Massa had a day of emotions at this Porsche Cup opening in Interlagos. This Saturday (28) in Interlagos, accompanying his son Pipo in his debut in the category, he witnessed up close the victory in the Carrera Cup Rookie class.

Pipo did it all. Earlier, the young man of just 16 years old took pole position and in the race, fought for the position and was even overtaken, but managed to get the position back and, thus, crossed the finish line in first place.
To F1MANIA.NET, then, Massa told how it was to follow the first race of the driver’s career in professional motorsport. “Wow, I thought qualifying was already hard on the heart, but the race was much more,” he said.
“It was hard to see him there competing, fighting, but he did a good job, competed, held his position, there was even a time when a car overtook him and he overtook back. So, it was very cool, he drove well, head in the right place, man, first race and first victory, it wasn’t what we were expecting, we are super happy,” he continued.

Felipe even joked that Pipo started ‘badly’, because with a victory, it’s ‘not possible’ to improve anymore. “There’s no way to be better, that’s the problem. He started bad, because he started in first, now, let’s try to see if he can keep it up all year,” he said.
Finally, he said that “the goal is for him to improve overall, gain experience and ground as well.”
