NASCAR Brasil: Two-time champion, Martelli seeks solid result in the season opener

The 2026 NASCAR Brasil Series begins on April 12, in Santa Cruz do Sul (RS), and two-time champion Jorge Martelli arrives at the first stage with clear ambitions: to fight for the title from the start. The driver of the #87 Chevrolet Camaro, for Team RC, highlighted the importance of starting the season well.

“Santa Cruz do Sul is a technical track that demands a lot from both the car and the driver. We are looking for a solid result right at the opening, especially in the Sprint and Playoff format disputes. Expectations are very positive. We know that the level of NASCAR Brasil is getting higher and higher,” Martelli stated.

In the four-month interval between seasons, Martelli dedicated himself to agribusiness, another of his passions off the track. He participated in fairs, field days, and presented his competition car in the Midwest and North regions of Brazil. “These were important months to recharge energies and focus on another area that is also part of my life. Agribusiness requires total dedication, just like the tracks and family, and I believe this balance was essential to return even more motivated,” the driver explained.

Even away from racing, Martelli closely followed the team’s preparations and the final adjustments to the car. He reinforced that consistency will be decisive throughout the championship, which will have nine stages in 2026, including debuts in Chapecó (SC), Cuiabá (MT), and Brasília (DF), as well as returns to Santa Cruz do Sul (RS) and Goiânia (GO).

“It is a long championship, with tracks that are very different from each other, without repetitions and new racetracks to explore, one of them being here in the capital of Mato Grosso. The secret is to score points in every stage and avoid mistakes. Our goal is to always be among the leaders and, of course, fight for another title. Team RC has been making the final adjustments and the integration with the team is reinforcing confidence for the start of the competition,” Martelli concluded.
