Drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will be responsible for representing McLaren in a Pirelli tire test at the Nürburgring circuit later this month, according to the international website GPBlog. The activity will take place precisely during the period when the Saudi Arabian GP was originally scheduled on the Formula 1 calendar.

The choice of the duo replaces the previous participation of Nyck de Vries, who was in Bahrain for a similar test. However, the initial plan was canceled at the last minute due to the war that broke out in the Middle East. As a result, Pirelli reorganized the schedule and moved the activity to the Nürburgring, in Germany.
The change also makes room for Norris and Piastri to accumulate mileage during the spring break imposed on Formula 1. Despite using a McLaren F1 car, the drivers will not run the traditional long layout of the Nürburgring, the Nordschleife.

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen also has a confirmed presence at the German circuit this month, participating in the qualifying races for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, an event scheduled for May. Another name recently at the Nordschleife was Lance Stroll. The Canadian Aston Martin driver revealed this Thursday (2) that he will compete in a GT category.
