Juan Pablo Montoya had a very harsh speech regarding Max Verstappen’s recent stance in Formula 1. The Colombian pointed out that if the competitor is so dissatisfied with the new phase of the category, he should say goodbye once and for all.

Since the start of the 2026 season and the new regulations, the Red Bull driver has been very vocal with his criticisms. Unhappy and still with an uncompetitive car, the four-time champion has even cast doubt on his stay on the grid, saying that there is life outside of Formula 1.
However, the former F1 driver has already shown he is impatient with the Dutchman’s discourse and, in an interview with a betting site, said he should just admit he is in a bad car. “If you are unhappy being an F1 driver, you should leave,” he said.

“Have the courage of your convictions. If you are dissatisfied with the rules, talk to people instead of threatening to leave. If I were him, I would shut up, deal with it, and admit that he is in a bad car and that he is frustrated because his car is a piece of junk that is 20 kilos overweight and will be uncompetitive all year. In the end, no one is bigger than the sport,” he concluded.
