Ferrari may need to intervene in the internal dispute at the Scuderia between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. The warning came from former Formula 1 driver Timo Glock, who sees a risk of collision between the teammates after intense battles in recent races.

Hamilton and Leclerc have engaged in wheel-to-wheel duels in the last two GPs, increasing concerns about potential damage to the team. With Ferrari trying to close the gap to Mercedes, Glock believes the team must establish clear rules to avoid losing points.
In China, Hamilton came out on top after a direct battle with Leclerc and secured his first podium with Ferrari. Last Sunday, at the Japanese GP, the Monegasque finished ahead after another intense confrontation between the two drivers.
For Glock, Ferrari needs to act before the rivalry causes greater damage: “The line must be drawn very clearly as soon as the team experiences a disadvantage,” the former driver told Sky Germany. According to him, internal disputes can harm performance, especially when there is a loss of energy and positions.
The German also highlighted that the team cannot allow the situation to escalate: “If the two get in each other’s way and lose battery energy, and the team ends up losing positions because of it, the team management needs to intervene,” he stated. He also emphasized that the recent battle was already on the limit of what is acceptable.

Glock also recalled that duels are common within teams, but contact must be avoided: “Within teams, the rule is: dueling is acceptable, but contact is definitely not the intention. Hamilton is clearly trying to improve his position,” he said.
The former driver also predicts that the rivalry could end in an accident if nothing is done: “In my feeling, sooner or later we will see both of them in the gravel after a collision,” he added.
Despite the concern, Glock recognized Hamilton’s good start to the season. After a difficult debut year with Ferrari in 2025, the Briton showed significant progress: “Leclerc is still a bit more consistently fast, but Hamilton has clearly returned to the level where we all want to see him. He has confidence and is having fun racing, even if he wasn’t as competitive in Japan as he was in China,” he added.
