Cadillac managed to take positive points from the qualifying held in Suzuka this Saturday (28). Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez, the driver pairing for the debut team of the 2026 Formula 1 season, saw evolution in the session.
As expected, the competitors were unable to advance to Q2 in the qualifying session. However, even lining up 19th for the third round of the calendar, the Mexican celebrated the result, despite knowing there is room to improve
“Today’s result and position are positive for the team, but we still have more potential to explore. We had some issues with energy distribution. I hope that tomorrow we can optimize it, as there is a lot of time to be gained. Another result is clearly the goal, and I hope that tomorrow we can be in the fight,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Finn praised a qualifying session in Japan free of problems, saying that “we had a fairly smooth qualifying, making the most of the session. The midfield is still a bit far for us, but we have two cars behind. We have already learned a lot this weekend. Everything is becoming more efficient as we continue to evolve.”
“The car is better, as we gained a bit of weight, but still not enough, so we need to keep working to bring more updates. Tomorrow should be an interesting race, with good battles, so let’s see, as anything can happen at this stage of the season,” he concluded.
