Carlos Sainz commented on the cancellations of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Formula 1 GPs. The Spaniard hopes that the conflict ends soon and that they can race in the Middle East shortly.

During the Chinese GP weekend, the FIA and the category made the final decision regarding the races in April. With the conflicts involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which have affected surrounding countries, it was decided that the most prudent course of action was not to hold the races in Sakhir and Jeddah.
Therefore, there will be 35 days without Formula 1 between the Japanese and Miami GPs, with the entire month of April without any races. Furthermore, Formula 2, Formula 3, and F1 Academy also had their rounds cancelled.

On social media, Sainz commented on the decision. “Following the news and the difficult decision made by F1, the FIA, and the promoters, I sincerely hope that this conflict comes to an end as soon as possible and that everyone stays safe,” he wrote.
“Racing in the Middle East is always special and I hope we can return to the region as soon as circumstances allow,” he added.
