Esteban Ocon finished the Formula 1 Chinese GP in only 14th position, showing frustration with the events that compromised his performance.

“We had the conditions for a very good race, considering the pace we had with the hard tire. It’s the second race in a row where we got the safety car or the virtual safety car at the wrong time, while we were in a position that could yield points, so today it just didn’t work out,” Ocon stated.
The French driver also acknowledged an error in judgment during the battle with Alpine’s Franco Colapinto: “I made a mistake with Franco and misjudged the space between us, but we had good battles throughout the race until that moment, so it’s a shame it ended that way,” he concluded.

Despite the frustrating result, Ocon highlighted that the car’s pace in part of the race was positive, showing that Haas has plenty of potential to score points in the next races, as proven by his teammate, Oliver Bearman, who finished the GP in Shanghai in fifth position.
