Ralf Schumacher spoke about the biggest threat to Kimi Antonelli for the 2026 Formula 1 season title, and he is currently in fourth place in the championship.

The Italian has won eight of the 14 races held so far and holds a lead of no less than 81 points over George Russell, second, and 101 over Lewis Hamilton, third.
However, a name that has been rising this year is Lando Norris. The driver is now in fourth and has already achieved two wins in 2026 and, therefore, for Ralf Schumacher, he is the biggest threat to Kimi in F1 currently.
“George Russell found someone his equal; Kimi Antonelli is better. I don’t think that will change; he simply doesn’t have enough mental flexibility to implement the right things,” he said on the Sky Sports podcast.
“And I think that frustrates George a bit, because he just can’t find a way forward at the moment.”

About Norris, he said “it’s an interesting transformation. Lando has gained incredible strength, and not just on the tracks. I almost feel like Norris went through some coaching work, because now he vehemently claims he should earn the same as Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, ‘because I am as good as or better.’”
“So, he is demanding that now; he is demanding recognition for his position. He had a speed that would have been unbeatable that weekend. Only the virtual safety car slowed the 26-year-old driver.”
“I think the McLaren car is better. But Mercedes will reach that level. I would say that, under normal circumstances, no one else has a chance, but if anyone can surpass Antonelli, it will be Norris,” he concluded.
