The Briton started the year as the favorite for the title, especially after the victory at the Australian GP. However, he has been overshadowed by the talent of teammate Kimi Antonelli, who has won eight of 14 races and has an 81-point lead in the standings.
However, the Austrian Mercedes F1 executive made a point of supporting Russell, emphasizing that he has not forgotten everything the competitor is capable of doing on the track.

“When it comes to George, you can have good races, bad races, good years and bad years. But we are talking about the driver who has won everything possible before,” he said.
“All the kart championships, Formula 3 in his debut year, Formula 2 in his debut year, and then moving to Williams. In other words, we are talking about a top driver,” he added.
