Sebastian Vettel showed full support for Kimi Antonelli’s title in the 2026 Formula 1 season and highlighted that he would be very happy to see his record as the youngest champion broken.

The four-time German champion became the youngest titleholder in history in 2010 at 23 years, four months, and 11 days. Seb broke the record previously held by Lewis Hamilton, achieved in 2008, by more than five months.
Now, the young Mercedes competitor has the chance to set a new milestone. At just 20 years old, he is increasingly close to winning the F1 trophy and if he does, he will comfortably surpass Vettel’s age.

“I would be very happy for him. He had an incredible year. There is that old saying that records are made to be broken. He still has many years ahead to do that,” he said in Monza.
“I love the sport, so as a spectator, it’s very exciting. I would like others to come back and get more involved in the competition. I’m calm and happy for him because I know how much work is behind this achievement, and whoever wins will also deserve it,” he added.
