Lando Norris is the one who will start from pole position at the Spanish Grand Prix of Formula 1, but not without first having a scare during qualifying this Saturday (12).

The McLaren driver secured the top spot on the grid in Madrid with a margin of just 0.011 seconds over Kimi Antonelli, who was second. After the session, however, he said he had a scare and almost hit the wall.
“The adrenaline was high on the last lap. It’s that kind of situation where you need to relax and let everything flow. It’s easy to get tense here, and there are many walls that appear very quickly,” he said.

“Honestly, I was feeling quite confident and the car was good, so I felt good on the track. I just wasn’t able to do what I wanted; I wasn’t relaxed. On the last lap, I took a deep breath and everything clicked. It was almost perfect, but on the last corner, I thought I was going to hit the wall and that the mechanics would have to fix the car tonight,” he added.
