Girolami leads opening training of TCR South America in Concordia

The TCR South America officially opened its seventh stage of the 2026 championship with the first free practice on the morning of this Saturday (12), in Concordia, Argentina. Local driver Néstor Girolami managed the fastest lap by recording 1min43s155.

Second place went to Brazilian Nelson Piquet Jr., who secured 1min43s322. Next was Camilo Trappa, 0s0391 behind Girolami. Tiago Pernía led much of the session and finished fourth with 1min43s576. He was accompanied by his father, Leonel Pernía, who is the current championship leader. Leonel recorded 1min43s733.

Joaquín Cafaro made the sixth best time, 1min44s331. Right behind came Brazilian Gabryel Romano, one of the youngest on the grid. The driver recorded 1min44s362. Raphael Reis, vice-leader of the competition, was eighth with 1min44s403. Juan Casella and Juan Ángel Rosso closed the top-10 with 1min44s418 and 1min44s661, respectively.

The TCR South America will still hold another free practice this Saturday at 1pm, and qualifying, scheduled for 4:05pm.
