Kimi Antonelli opened his heart about whether he believed in victory at the Formula 1 Italian GP, especially after starting from 19th position.

The championship leader had to start from the second to last row of the grid after a power unit change. Going into the race in Monza, he hoped to get a podium, although he began aiming for a win after moving up to 12th before the red flag.
At the restart, he climbed higher and higher and in the final laps, fought against George Russell and managed the decisive overtake to make the home crowd happy. “I thought a podium was possible, but obviously, with the red flag, I was already in 12th place and knew I could have a chance,” he said.

“But, of course, I saw myself in front and fighting for positions; however, it was very difficult to open a gap, practically impossible. So, I knew it would be tough. Then, with the VSC, we made the pit stop and had to close the gap; and, in the end, managing to take the victory home… I am very happy about that,” he continued.
“Yeah, I think this is the most special podium of the season. Seeing all the fans on the main straight is simply amazing. And, of course, racing at home brings that little something extra. I am very, very happy about that,” he concluded.
