Hamilton was pushed into the runoff area on the first lap after a battle with Leclerc at turn 1 and lost some positions. The seven-time world champion finished the race in sixth place, while Leclerc retired after a heavy crash on the second lap, in a weekend in which Hamilton also criticized the strategy adopted by Ferrari.

After the race, Hamilton rejected the idea that he could contribute to a conflict with his teammate: “I don’t race dirty. I have always raced cleanly and fairly and always left space,” he said. The Briton also highlighted that he has sought to respect the team’s limits since his arrival at Ferrari and avoided directly blaming Leclerc.
