Lewis Hamilton harshly complained about Charles Leclerc right on the first lap of the Italian Grand Prix in Formula 1. The two Ferrari drivers met at the Variante del Rettifilo and the Briton stated over the radio that he was pushed off the track by his teammate.

Hamilton had a good start and gained momentum on the long main straight of Monza, positioning himself to attack Leclerc from the outside at the first chicane. At the braking point, the Monegasque defended aggressively, and the seven-time world champion ended up going over the curbs on the exit of the corner.
“Charles pushed me off!”, Hamilton complained over the Ferrari radio. The Briton felt he was not given enough space in the battle and made his discomfort clear immediately after the incident.

The tension between the two grew even more because Ferrari had already experienced other delicate moments involving the duo. Hamilton had recently been questioning how the team manages its drivers and had stated that the lack of a clear priority could harm the team’s chances.
Shortly after the contact between the teammates, Leclerc suffered an accident that ended his race and caused the race to be stopped. However, the first lap incident had already put the sporting relationship between the two Ferrari drivers back under scrutiny in Monza.
