Freddie Slater took an important step towards winning the Formula 3 title in the early hours of this Saturday (5) by extending his championship lead with second place in the Sprint race of the penultimate round of the 2026 season at the Monza National Circuit, Italy. The Trident driver scored nine more points and, already considering the pole position for Sunday, reached 141 points, opening a 19-point advantage over his rivals.

The second position in the standings belongs to Ugo Ugochukwu, who did not score in the Sprint and remains with 122 points. Ernesto Rivera is third with 76 points, just one more than Theóphile Nael, fourth with 75. The group of the top five in the standings is completed by Brando Badoer, who has 71 points.

Hiyu Yamakoshi appears in sixth with 63 points, just ahead of Noah Stromsted, seventh best in the championship with 59. Sprint winner in Italy, Taito Kato is eighth with 56, while Maciej Gladysz occupies ninth place with 54. The list of the top ten in Formula 3 also includes Bruno del Pino, with 50 points.
The Brazilians ended up outside the points after suffering incidents this morning and remain with the same score. Pedro Clerot, who retired with Rodin Motorsport after seeing the car’s engine explode while leading the race, is 11th with 48 points. Fernando Barrichello, who crashed with the AIX Racing car after being pushed onto the grass while in the top 5 of the race, is 27th with two points.
