F3 Vice-leader, Ugochukwu loses positions on the grid at the Italy stage

Vice-leader of the Formula 3 championship, Ugo Ugochukwu will lose five positions on the grid for the two races of the penultimate round of the season, scheduled for this weekend at the Monza National Autodrome in Italy. The Campos Racing driver caused a collision with Matteo de Palo, Trident driver, in the only free practice session of the round, held in the early hours of this Friday (4).

Both drivers were heard by the stewards after the session, and it was determined that the American was at fault for the incident. Thus, Ugochukwu received a five-position penalty that will be applied in both races. In practice, this means that the Campos Racing driver will have to climb positions in both the Sprint and the main race.

Ugochukwu led much of the championship and is currently in second place. The American is contesting the 2026 season title with Freddie Slater, and is only eight points behind the Trident driver with two rounds remaining before the end of the championship.
