Lando Norris believes that Max Verstappen would have no reason to leave Red Bull Racing as long as the team continues to provide conditions to compete for titles in Formula 1. For the McLaren driver, the big names on the grid rarely abandon winning projects without first clearly seeing a change in the scenario.

Norris cited the decisions of Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher to support his reasoning. According to him, both left their teams at times when there was an expectation that their new projects could reach a higher competitive level: “I don’t think anyone decided to leave while they were being very successful,” he said.
Applying this logic to the current grid, Norris understands that Verstappen and Charles Leclerc would also have no competitive reasons to seek changes: “There is no reason for Max to leave when he knows he is in a team that can win more championships. There is no reason for Charles to leave when he knows he can probably win championships with Ferrari,” he said.

Norris himself placed his situation in the same context and reaffirmed his intention to remain at McLaren: “So, for me, I believe I can win more championships with McLaren and there is no reason for me to want to leave,” he added.
Norris also stated that he would be ‘very, very happy and proud if he spent his entire career with the British team,’ and explained that his decisions are mainly based on two factors, the possibility of winning and the relationship with the people in the team. Since he believes McLaren meets both criteria, he sees no advantage in seeking a new opportunity: “I prefer to be with people I enjoy spending time with, and stay with the family that gave me the chance in Formula 1. There is no reason to change,” concluded the British driver.
