Formula 1 returns to the tracks this weekend for the Italian Grand Prix, the 13th round of the 2026 season. Between September 4 and 6, drivers and teams speed up at the traditional Monza National Autodrome, in another important chapter of the second half of the championship.

The Italian round takes place after a week without track activities and continues the championship after the Dutch GP, which marked the category’s return after the European summer break. Now, F1 faces a completely different scenario at one of the fastest and most historic circuits on the calendar.
Known as the “Temple of Speed,” Monza is 5.793 km long and requires a very particular car setup. The long straights make teams use low levels of aerodynamic downforce to reduce drag and increase top speed, while the strong braking zones also represent important points for overtaking.
The Italian layout also features historic sections such as the Lesmo curves, the Ascari Chicane, and the Alboreto Curve, formerly Parabolica. Besides the sporting challenge, the weekend is marked by the presence of the tifosi, who turn Ferrari’s home race into one of the most atmospheric rounds of the season.

The Italian GP will be contested in the conventional format, with three free practice sessions, qualifying on Saturday, and the race on Sunday. The race will be 53 laps or a maximum duration of 120 minutes.
