In Zandvoort, the seven-time world champion did not hide his annoyance with the strategy chosen by the team, saying they were ‘wasting time’ being stuck behind Charles Leclerc. As a result, he could not fight for podium positions against George Russell and finished the race in fourth.
Then, on his social media, he made a post reflecting on the challenging weekend for the Italian team, but reinforced the progress made in F1 in 2026. “It was a tough weekend, but we came away with valuable points for the team and signs that we are moving in the right direction. I am immensely proud of everyone at the factory who continue to bring updates, seek performance, and push us forward,” he wrote.
“To the team on track, thank you very much. Your commitment and effort never go unnoticed. We still have work to do, especially in qualifying laps, but we will continue to strive, learn, and evolve together,” he continued.

“I listened again to some of the comments I made on the radio and TV. In the heat of the moment, frustration can come out, especially when we care as much as I do. But that was not my best version. I take responsibility for that and will be better,” he continued.
“This passion comes from the belief in this team, the people who make it up, and what we are building together. The direction is clear. The confidence exists. And the fight continues at full strength. Thank you for continuing to stand by our side and mine. We will keep building, advancing, and fighting. We are getting there,” he concluded.
