Peter Bayer, CEO of Racing Bulls, revealed the timeline of Isack Hadjar’s wrist injury that kept him out of the Formula 1 Dutch GP. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen is hoping for his teammate’s speedy recovery.
The Frenchman fractured his wrist during a training session over the F1 summer break. As a result, he could not race in Zandvoort and was replaced by Liam Lawson; in turn, it was Yuki Tsunoda who took the New Zealander’s place at Racing Bulls alongside Arvid Lindblad.
Then, during the weekend in the Netherlands, Bayer explained how events unfolded, all starting with a phone call. “I found out about the injury at the end of last week. Then, obviously, the phone started ringing, some calls, and on Tuesday, the decision was made on how we would approach this weekend,” he said.

“As for the changes, honestly, I think that, as much as we don’t like these things to happen, once they do, we know what to do. You kind of follow the ‘procedure manual’, I suppose. The biggest change was really in Yuki’s travel plans: bringing him back from Greece and putting him in the simulator, to offer all possible support,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Verstappen, who last raced in front of his home crowd in F1, said that “I also only received the news on Tuesday. I hope, of course, that he can recover quickly with rest.”
