AMattheis Vogel team driver in NASCAR Brazil, Gabriel Casagrande won on Sunday (23) the second race of the seventh stage of the 2026 season, held at the Ayrton Senna International Circuit, in Londrina (PR). The owner of car number 83 made a double overtake on the final lap of the race to secure his fourth victory of the year.

In the first contest of the day, Casagrande had already shown strength by crossing the finish line in third place, just seven tenths behind the winner. Hours later, one of the competitors ahead of him was disqualified and the Paraná native moved up to second place. In the race that closed the stage, Casagrande was always in the fight for victory, but only took the lead on the final lap, surpassing two opponents to take first place.

“The weekend couldn’t have been better, it was very positive. With 25 kilos of ballast for the runner-up position when the stage started, we had a heavier car, but we competed on equal terms. There were faster cars, but thanks to the slipstream the cars provide, we stayed in the fight. I’m happy with what we achieved, with the second places in the Sprint and race 1, and the victory in race 2,” said Casagrande.

“The victory in the main race, the way it was, on the final lap, using the boost to make the overtake and secure the win. Winning on the last lap gives an even greater feeling of happiness. And now we extend the championship lead. I’m satisfied with that and we go to Curvelo for the regular season finale very excited. We keep building our championship and the goal is to be champion,” adds Gabriel Casagrande, who is sponsored by Baterias Júpiter, Axalta, Cresol, OnPetro, STP, RP Info, UFI Filters, and Aeropark Camboriú.
NASCAR Brazil will continue on September 20, when the seventh stage will be held at the Circuito dos Cristais, in Curvelo (MG).
