Aston Martin had two very opposite outcomes at this Sunday’s (23) Dutch GP. While Fernando Alonso finished in the points zone, Lance Stroll retired from the race.

In Zandvoort, the Spaniard managed to take advantage of the British team’s upgrade package and crossed the finish line in ninth place, adding two more important points for the championship.
“It’s great to finish in the points zone here in Zandvoort. I wasn’t expecting that, so it’s credit to the team for extracting the maximum from everything we had. We still have some handling issues, but this weekend represents another step forward. We will take this momentum and keep working hard to get the most out of the car,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Canadian teammate was unable to finish the Dutch race, lamenting the complicated outcome of yet another weekend.
“We suffered some damage right at the start, which compromised the car’s performance. We were off pace and the car was sliding a lot; so, we made an early stop to put on hard tires, but unfortunately, none of that helped. There is still a lot of work to do to improve the car’s handling.”
