The dispute over the result at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1 will have a new chapter next week. Red Bull Racing and McLaren will have their appeals against the decision involving Pierre Gasly reviewed by the International Court of Appeal.

This hearing was scheduled by the FIA for Tuesday, August 25, in Paris, at 9 a.m. local time. The decision will be published as soon as possible after the session, which will not have press presence.
The case originated from the removal of Gasly’s penalties for speeding in the pit lane. Alpine managed to exercise the Right of Review, and the decision changed the final classification, keeping the Frenchman in third position, taking the P3 away from Isack Hadjar.
Before the review, Hadjar had finished the Monaco GP in third, ahead of Oscar Piastri, and had climbed the podium alongside Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton. On June 16, Red Bull and McLaren filed appeals against the stewards’ decision to the International Court of Appeal.

When confirming the appeal, McLaren stated that the subsequent removal of penalties on Gasly created a situation where drivers who followed the rules and the stewards’ decisions ended up disadvantaged: “Such a result risks creating a sporting inequality and weakening confidence in the consistent application of the FIA Sporting Regulations,” the British team said in a statement.
McLaren also emphasized that the initiative was not directed against any competitor but sought to defend a ‘consistent, transparent, and fair’ application of the regulations. If the appeal is accepted, Hadjar could regain third place, and consequently, his first podium with Red Bull Racing.
