Juan Pablo Montoya assessed the current situation of the 2026 Formula 1 season and pointed out that Kimi Antonelli’s personality makes it difficult for George Russell to recover.
The championship resumes activities this weekend with the Dutch GP in Zandvoort. The Italian is the one leading the standings with a 59-point advantage over his teammate, who is only third.


“The dynamic is complicated, because Kimi is extremely fast and also a very nice guy. When the guy is fast and an asshole, it’s much easier to go against him and accumulate that necessary anger to gain momentum and destroy him. But when the guy is that nice…”, he said to the F1 website.

“I think George needs to find a way to match Kimi’s performance. If he manages to match Kimi, he will put him in an uncomfortable situation. If George reaches that level, Kimi will try to find a way to beat him again. I think this can force Kimi into a difficult situation and lead him to make mistakes,” he added.
