F3: Slater leads first day of pre-season testing in Barcelona

Freddie Slater was the fastest driver on the first day of Formula 3 pre-season testing, held at the Barcelona Circuit in Spain. In the last of the two activities held this Tuesday (10), the Trident driver recorded a time of 1min28s411 on the best of his 33 laps completed during the day, not being surpassed by his rivals.

Second position ended up in the hands of Kanato Le, a Japanese driver for ART Grand Prix, who was 0s331 behind Slater. Ugo Ugochukwu, with a Campos Racing car, finished the day with the third fastest time, followed by Louis Sharp, fourth with Prema. The top five group also included James Wharton, also from Prema.

Noah Stromsted, a driver for Trident, finished the day in sixth position, just ahead of Taito Kato, seventh with ART Grand Prix. Nicola Lacorte, from DAMS, was eighth, while Maciej Gladysz closed the day with the ninth fastest time with ART Grand Prix. The list of the ten fastest of the day also included Matteo de Palo, a Trident driver.

The session also featured the participation of two Brazilian drivers already confirmed for the F3 season. Pedro Clerot, who joins the category with Rodin after two years in FRECA, was 16th, 0s852 away from the best time after 55 laps. Fefo Barrichello, who competed in the final rounds of 2025 and will drive for AIX, was 25th in the standings, 1s254 behind the leader after 43 laps.

Formula 3 pre-season testing will continue this Wednesday, when two more activities will be held. The collective tests will conclude on Thursday. The first of the ten rounds of the championship will be held on March 6, 7 and 8 in Melbourne, Australia.
