The last Dutch GP in Zandvoort may gain a decisive ingredient in 2026: rain. The forecast indicates an 85% chance of precipitation over the three days of the weekend, including the Sprint.

According to Weeronline, conditions are expected to be unstable from Friday, August 21, when the drivers will go to the track for the first time. TL1, the only practice session of the weekend, is scheduled for 12:30, while the Sprint Qualifying takes place at 16:00, with temperatures close to 20°C and an 85% chance of rain.
On Saturday, August 22, the Sprint will be contested at 12:00, followed by the GP qualifying at 16:00. The forecast again points to around 20°C and an 85% chance of precipitation during the day, which could make tire choice and the timing of fast laps especially important.

The situation is not expected to be different on Sunday, August 23. The forecast indicates a temperature of 21°C and again an 85% chance of rain for the last Dutch GP in Zandvoort, at least for now. As the circuit will host a Sprint for the first time, any change in conditions will have an even greater impact on the competitive schedule of the weekend.
Rain was already responsible for turning the 2023 Dutch GP into one of the busiest races on the calendar. On that occasion, the race started under precipitation and was won by Max Verstappen, while Fernando Alonso and Pierre Gasly completed the podium in a race marked by unstable conditions.
