Verstappen rules out taking his racing team to F1

Max Verstappen ruled out the possibility of taking the Verstappen Racing project to Formula 1. The four-time world champion intends to expand the operation in different categories, but does not consider taking on the challenge of leading a team in the premier motorsport category.

The Dutchman’s project has been gaining ground in GT and endurance competitions, areas in whichhe intends to build a professional structure capable of competing for wins. In an interview with Formula 1, Verstappen explained that the demand of managing a team in the category would be incompatible with his plans.

“No, because that would be too demanding. So I would still be on the road for 24 races a year or very busy with my own racing team,” Verstappen said when asked about the possibility of joining F1 as a team owner.

When projecting the future of Verstappen Racing for the next 10 to 20 years, the driver made it clear that the goal is not simply to participate in competitions: “By then, there should be a professional racing team competing for wins in the various classes. Nothing more, nothing less. We are not going to compete just because it’s fun to race. We want to be at the front, win races, and at the very least, consistently compete at the front,” he added.

Verstappen also highlighted his relationship with endurance racing, and stated that he does not intend to use his status as an F1 driver to receive special treatment: “I don’t want to act like a superstar just because I’m a Formula 1 driver, I need to act differently,” he concluded.

The Dutchman added that he enjoys working with teammates in the same car (in endurance races), managing traffic, and exploring challenges like driving at night, an experience he described as fantastic.
