Leonardo Fornaroli is actively competing for a Haas seat in the 2027 Formula 1 season. According to GPblog, along with McLaren, the manager of the current Formula 2 champion is in talks with the American team.

The team has not yet confirmed either of the two drivers for next year, although it is virtually certain that Oliver Bearman will continue as a regular driver. The Brit would be loaned for another year by Ferrari, which sees a bright future for the young driver – the expectation is that he will take over when Lewis Hamilton retires.
Now, the question is who will race alongside Ollie. Esteban Ocon hopes to keep his F1 seat next year, but according to GPblog, the Frenchman is close to the end of the line – Ayao Komatsu, Haas’ boss, refuses to comment on the matter.

While the technical partnership tries to place a Japanese driver in the seat, Ferrari would like to put Brazilian Rafael Câmara in the American team. The competitor is fast and the current Formula 3 champion, so Haas sees him as an option, but perhaps not as the first choice.
The site also points out that Fornaroli’s agents are actively trying to place the young competitor, McLaren’s current reserve, in the team. They count on the support of the British team, which would loan him out to gain experience. In fact, the papaya team sees him as a future Formula 1 driver, replacing either Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri.
