Lewis Hamilton completed the first half of the 2026 season optimistic about his performance and hopes to be even stronger in the second part of the Formula 1 calendar.

In the first 11 rounds of the championship, the seven-time world champion secured his first win with Ferrari in Barcelona, and currently holds second place in the Drivers’ World Championship, 50 points behind Kimi Antonelli, the leader.

“The first half [of the season] has been incredible, considering we were probably losing about three or four tenths on the straights in terms of pace and power during this period,” he said.

“I know the team is working hard to bring updates to fix that. We have been bringing updates weekend after weekend. We hope to have more news in the second half and we keep working hard. I believe the second half will be stronger. Usually, the second half [of the season] is a period where I perform better,” he continued.
“So, as I said, I will really take this time to recharge and try to come back stronger, with better physical preparation and mentally more ready,” he concluded.
