Ferrari was performing well during free practice and qualifying, the Brit lost the pole position by just 0.012 seconds to Lando Norris who, in the end, converted it into a win on Sunday, the 26th.
It so happens that the seven-time champion’s race was already compromised on Saturday when he received a penalty and dropped to fifth position on the starting grid. In the race, he also received an additional 5 seconds for speeding in the pit lane and despite finishing fourth, he dropped to fifth behind his teammate.

After the race, the seven-time F1 champion spoke about the progress in the season, but that Ferrari failed to capitalize with a car capable of fighting in Budapest. “Without a doubt, there have been good improvements throughout the season, but I think this weekend, both Charles and I knew we had a car capable of fighting for the top three positions,” he said.
“However, we ended up in fourth and fifth places. So, the execution was not perfect. A missed opportunity for the team? In terms of result, definitely. We should have won this weekend,” he concluded.
