Max Verstappen revealed that he had damage to his RB22 throughout the Formula 1 Hungarian GP, even managing to finish in second place in the race.

During the weekend in Budapest, the four-time champion struggled with the balance of his car and was heard complaining several times on the radio. In the race, the driver complained once again, but still managed to save a podium.
In the first laps, he engaged in an exciting battle against Lewis Hamilton and managed to stay ahead of the Briton, losing the position after the pit stop. “I was still facing the same difficulties as yesterday; the car had extreme oversteer and was suffering quite a bit of degradation at some point too,” he said.
“But, right at the start, gaining positions was what made our first stint possible. We suffered an undercut, but then I managed to overtake Lewis, which I think made my second stint a bit more comfortable,” he added.

“Then, the team also put soft tires on my car; at first, I thought: ‘it’s going to be a long stretch until the end,’ but we managed to make it work. I still don’t quite understand how we got to second place, but I think we had a solid performance as a team. I see this as an over-expected performance, so I think it’s a positive thing, considering the feelings we had,” he continued.
“I also noticed, when getting out of the car after the race, that there was damage to the bodywork, I’m not sure why. It wasn’t easy for us at all,” he concluded.
